Les 50 meilleurs restaurants familiaux à San Jose Del Cabo (2024)

This Hyatt Ziva features state of the art amenities such as a waterpark and an extensive array of kid-friendly services. It is located on the beach in San José del Cabo, one of the most popular destinations in Mexico for all-inclusive resorts.

Very nice all inclusive hotel and resort. There’s really no need to the resort. Every possible food you could want is available. Really enjoyed the Caribbean night at the pool. Large buffet with several types of dishes and live entertainment. Yummy margaritas. Room was very comfortable and the bed was heavenly. Watching the sunrise from our private balcony while enjoying room service…..priceless.

Loved my experience here! It definitely felt safe, very clean. The suites were nice and spacious. Awesome rain shower. Definitely party vibes, loud music, karaoke and dancing. So as another reviewer said, may not be the best for kids. BUT if you’re looking for a good time, definitely go! Service was impeccable!

Loved my stay at this Hyatt, from the point of us checking in the staff was extremely welcoming, professional and polite. We were greeted with wine once we checked in escorted with help to our room as well with a brief tour of the resort. Room was clean bed was comfortable. Now I know in a lot of previous reviews lot of people complained about the decor, but being Latina wooden decor is major in the Latin culture. I believe everyone is just looking for modern aesthetic looks and if that’s what you’re looking for this hotel isn’t for you it’s more of a classic resort vibe. We did love that they had an adult side, a kid side, and a area where everyone was at. We especially spent more time in adult area, but did walk around the entire resort during our stay to experience everything else being offered around the other pool areas. All the restaurants were delicious and I love that they had a 24 hour café that you were able to get a snack or coffee anytime of the day. If you are not going with children, I recommend asking for a room by the adult pool because once you wake up, it’s not so much noise. Overall great day and definitely will revisit.

This location deserves more than 1 star. The poorly managed response to hurricane Norma dragged this place way down. I can confirm much of what you’re reading in the other reviews: they locked us all up together for 21+ hours; chains and ropes were visible on the doors; the ceiling was leaking; the washrooms were disgusting and severely inadequate for the size of the group; we had to sleep on the hard floor with only a light blanket and sheet. An open flame was used to heat the coffee in a room holding several hundred people that had blocked exits. Yikes! This could have been horrific.I am thankful that they kept us safe from the storm and tried to entertain and feed us while locked up. The staff were put in a horrible position of defending the general manager’s heavy handed decisions. The communication should have been much better. Pictures of the outside would have been helpful. Learning what staff were doing to get us out of there would have been nice to know. Access to better food and some sort of fresh air should have been made available after 12 hours in lock up (especially since the storm had already passed).Minimal facilities (pool, restaurant, etc.) were reopened in the following days. We ate at the same buffet 5 times in a row - blah.I want to stress again how great the staff are. This is a failure of management. The staff are friendly and extremely polite. They apologized for not being able to do better. It’s a shame that they had to deal with aggressive and belligerent guests; however, it’s not surprising that some people would get really upset after such a long time in poor conditions. There was no mention of compensation at checkout. Really hard to believe that Hyatt would consider this experience as representative of their brand. Something needs to be done at the corporate level. A new general manager is an easy start.

Beautifully built resort. Even though the lobby area was being renovated, resort looked amazing. Service was not upto the mark sometimes during our 7 days stay, but mostly all the staff was great. Rooms were spacious with great views and large balcony. Plenty of restaurants to enjoy different cuisines.

Balwinder V — Google review

The stay here at the hotel was absolutely amazing. We had a room that had the walk up pool such an amazing room. The staff here was great very attentive and always asking for you if you wanted food and drinks. There weren't a lot of people we were there the last week of August so that was even a bonus that it didn't feel crowded.

Albert P — Google review

The food was consistently good and sometimes great (the steak house). Only one pool was heated so that caused the seats around that one come at a premium. You can't/aren't supposed to swim in the ocean but the beach is super walkable. The COVID insurance policy of being able to quarantine there, if necessary if you test positive, for only $30 is a great offer (and one we had to take advantage of it).Overall the experience was good but not great. I have enjoyed other all inclusive resorts more but I would go back to this one if the price was right.

Beautiful, clean and spacious place.Wonderful staff and great food. All the restaurants and eateries we tried were excellent. The only place that did not get high marks, was the Italian restaurant. The bed and the pillows are very comfortable. The shower is perfect, the rooms are very nice. The only weird thing was that my room had no couch, table or chair. That was room 3539 .We could not use the ocean.Recommended.

Had a great time at this resort. The lines weren’t too long. Could find some quiet when needed. Not too big, not too small. The restaurants were phenomenal compared to other all inclusive resorts. It seems like all the rooms have fantastic views. The water at the shoreline is a bit rough, so we didn’t feel safe to go in the water. But the huge crashing waves were a sight to be seen and heard! We saw whales from the shore. Several vendors were located on the beach, including massage for much less than you could get at the resort. We left the property briefly and felt very safe. Super friendly and hard working staff. They mistakenly gave us two beds instead of a king so we pushed the beds together. After they cleaned our room we came back to find they had made up the beds together with the biggest sheets and blankets I’ve ever seen. What a nice touch! The floors in the rooms could have used a cleaning but otherwise a fantastic trip! Would highly recommend.

***The definition of mediocrity***Do you enjoy shade on a scolding hot day? That will cost you $150 extra because those nice pool side cabanas you see in the advertisements do not come included in your hotel fee...Care for a massage? Well you better sell your home, as massages here start at $450 per hour....gratuity not includedIf you love overpriced, disappointment then look no further. For $800 a night, you'll get the most "okay" buffet food. Do you love flavorless food with a side of attitude? Then you'll love the "fine dining" here.We made the mistake of booking a week long stay here. From the very beginning it was drama, as we were informed that we could bring cash and pay for the stay in us dollars...upon getting there we were told they actually don't accept dollars. We had to convert to pesos...which would cost an extra $1000 as they offered us 12 pesos for a dollar that day (18 pesos anywhere else).Stay away.

My husband booked this hotel as a surprise for our Anniversary. Our stay here was decent for the most part. The only let down is the beach in the back is not accessible to people because of the rough waters so that’s the only drawback if your planning on staying here. There are 3 pools located outside the resort. One is a common space, one is adults ONLY and the last one is a splash pad for the kiddos.Because its summer breaks it’s very busy and sometimes the restaurants are a bit backed up and the service can be slow. There’s several restaurants and a snack bar you can chose to eat at during your stay. We had a short stay so we only had time to try the French restaurant. Their food was great for the most part! The portion sizes are pretty small as compared to normal portion sizes outside the restaurant so keep that in mind when booking. My husband had booked a Oceanview room and for some reason we ended up getting a partial view. We did talk to the front desk about that and they said that was the ocean view and they had nothing else. There’s also a schedule you can checkout for daily activities planned on the resort.Overall our stay was pretty good and we have no major issues. The hotel employees are posted outside with a check in and out sheet to make sure no one just comes to the hotel to loiter around. So it’s pretty safe to stay here if anyone is concerned with safety.

Neha D — Google review

The resort is great. Well maintained and clean. Found a lot of the food options repetitive. However, the staff is top notch, friendly and always trying to make the guest happy. So what makes this a 1 star review is Hurricane Norma and my experiences. I get it, I live where tornadoes and 20 inch snow storms happen, weather happens. Some of my issues:-The actual location of the storm shelter, a theater lower than 1st floor with doors facing the ocean seems questionable. In addition, not really covid safe.-The shelter had locked chained doors in addition to one’s tied shut. I don’t see these as additions to a safe space.-Mandatory relocation to the shelter was enforced by breaking down doors and using local police for failure to comply. Truly think choice should play in this.- Total lack of communication. The only posted hurricane information was from 6pm the previous day as the hotel forced continued sheltering after landfall as cat1 and way to the north. Current conditions at the property were sunshine and 30 mph winds.-With the forced confinement of the guests not enough consideration was placed on hygiene. For over 15 hours all men had access to two urinals and one toilet. I was told the girls had three toilets with one plugged up.- Food safety seemed extremely lax during the event. The milk provided for the box of All Bran was warm enough to wonder how long it had been in the zone. Once again, this stuff diminishes the notion this is for your safety.-Management was extremely hard to contact and when they finally made themselves available acted hostile and condescending. Refused to share any access to policy/protocol, while outright providing easily verifiable false information.I will not be returning to this establishment in the future and will recommend to anyone to follow suit.

We went there for my son’s wedding and we had a great time. The security is top notch and staff are very polite and friendly. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure you have a good time. It’s a family resort so it’s pretty quiet after 11:00. Food is plenty and decent. Not every restaurant is open every night and you don’t need reservations in general.

Saeed D — Google review

This was an incredibly disappointing experience. Any member of the staff I interacted with genuinely seemed kind and helpful. That's where the positives end for this resort. Our room did not feel like it was thoroughly cleaned upon check in. The shower was still dirty and the counters didn't look as though they had been wiped down at all. We were there for a week and someone only came into our room twice to "clean". Our room overlooked a construction site that had trucks working the entire week. By far the worst part of the resort was the food. It was always over cooked or under cooked. My wife and I tried to take extra caution when eating anything. We both ended up getting food poisoning halfway through the week. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Got married here a few years back and it was a great time!!! The property is spacious with lots of restaurants for a variety of food and drinks. It’s a great all inclusive option for families. They were doing minor some renovations during this time but we were able to enjoy all amenities. The adults only area is also very nice and abit more quiet. Would definitely recommend and come back.

This place is in dire need of a refresh. Stayed for a corporate event and was not impressed. The good- property was clean. Service was good. Internet good. The bad- food was not good, subpar at best.Room (ocean view suite) was dingy and REALLY beat up. Pool not heated. Cabana mats thin and worn out. No hot water in entire building for an entire day with no notice.

Do not let the reviews saying construction ruining the stay fool you. Yes there is construction going on which THEY SAY IT CLEAR AS DAY ON THE WEBSITE QUITE LITERALLY ON THE HOME PAGE. My stay at the Hyatt Ziva los Cabos was absolutely amazing. Service was incredible everyone who works there is extremely nice. Their facilities were wonderful, 3 really large and clean pools, a solid gym, lots of lounge areas, bars and restaurants. The room was massive and spotless. They have a whole daily schedule of very fun and unique events for both children and adults. Out of the 5 days I stayed here I heard construction from the pool one time and it was inconsequential. Food was pretty good I’d probably give it a B+ overall! And if you have an event they do a lot of nice stuff for you! Came with my girlfriend for her birthday and they decorated the room and prepped it with desserts and champagne.

We stayed at this resort this past week and it was great. The service was amazing, drinks were made very well and the grounds were pretty, very lush. Everyone was very friendly. The nightly shows were very good. One of the things that needs improvement would be the food -breakfast was good ... The restaurant that was amazing was DoZo everything else was just okay, the food wasn't very authentic. The nightlife for adults could use improvement, the DJ started at 10p and ended at Midnight even though the bar was packed and everyone was dancing. So I would say that should stay open at least another hour. Overall, it is a very nice resort, it is in a more quiet area of Los Cabos so if you are looking for a party scene this is not the hotel for you. Overall, I would still recommend it.

Pools and swim-up bar is wonderful. Only the front pool is heated which that sucks. Could have the entire pool heated to spread people out more. Lots of small children hogging the hot tubes. Rooms are great. Employees made us feel very welcome. Drinks are excellent. Food on the other hand was a different story. Especially the restaurants. The choices are great but the food was not anything to write home about. They need to do better in this area and they would be on top as a resort. Their shows were good as well as the entertainment by the pool. Beach was exceptionally clean! Amazing views!!!!!

Dana M — Google review

Excellent service and rooms. Sadly, the beach was only for viewing (the waves restricted any swimming). Most restaurants were standard for an all inclusive. The Spa is a must! If you can, take an excursion to Flora Farms (approximately 15 minutes away). You won't regret it! The staff is exceptional.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at this resort. It was a short trip, Friday through Sunday. However, my kids loved so much. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Foods were so good!!We will definitely be back again.FYI: hotel shuttle was expensive. Taxi was cheaper than hotel's shuttle.

This is not a 1 star resort, but the food and beverages are so dang bad that I really can’t give it anything higher than a 1. There are a lot of options which is nice but they are all horrible. Even though the resort is all inclusive, we ended up eating half of our meals off property just to have some enjoyable meals. A lot of the food was served cold (for normally hot plates) and most of the items had little to no flavor. There are some dinner options that are edible, but the buffet and breakfast options are really really bad. I really feel like one week of a chef consultation could lead to such an enormous change in the culinary experience.Other cons:- the drinks are all bottom shelf alcohols and they are not made with high quality mixers.-there is only two beer options on the entire property. People want options when they are drinking for 5 straight days.- they served the drinks in plastic cafeteria cups. Can we get some real glasses? Or at least some nicer plastic…-none of the TV channels worked. (I get it’s vacation, but a little TV before bed would be nice).- pools close at 8 pm! That feels way too early. It’s 90 degrees all night. Some night swimming on vacation would be great. 10 pm at the EARLIEST.Pros:- staff is overall very nice.- the resort itself is clean and attractive-lots of activities although they are a little cheesy or maybe just more for children.-large pools with sufficient seating (at least in the off season)

This is absolutely the WORST VACATION I have taken. To start, we arrived at the Hotel at 3:30PM. Room was not ready. Told to come back 3 times in 30 minutes intervals. Room was still not ready. I had my 2 year old with me crying for her nap and they didn't seem to care. After I got frustrated they said room was ready only to find out they did not give us the category room we booked but lied and said we got an upgrade. I booked ocean Front and got a room with a restaurant roof in my view. Requested a crib and did not get it until the next day. There are no reservation at the restaurants, but when you get to the specialty restaurants it's a 2 to 3 hours wait. How are Families with Kids suppose to wait 2 hours to eat. You're force to go the the buffet which have the same bland food everyday. Their pool heater did not work for 3 of the 4 days we were there and you can't swim at the beach. Hence, we just got one day of vacation. This hotel have the bottom of the bottom shelve liquor as well. If you're a family that work hard, please do yourself a favor and don't book this resort.

So so so amazing. Clean rooms cleaned daily, stocked with bottled water and snacks, 24 hour room service, impeccable service from every staff member we encountered. I even lost my phone and they got it back to me with ease. The shows in the theater are gorgeous. Loved everything about our stay! I felt very safe even with children.

Great resort for the money. We got Ocean View Master Room on building #3, closer to the ocean. Our assigned room upon arrival was in building 1 and the room has the moldy smells we couldn’t sleep on the first night. I asked for room change and luckily they can accommodate to another room in different building. Overall,, rooms need to update, Chromcast in room 3425 doesn’t work. The ceiling fan doesn’t have adjustable speed. The Air conditioning doesnt have auto fan, the air running nonstop all day long with loud noise. Other than that, its great.

Pauline H — Google review

Overall a pretty decent hotel. Some restaurants and workers are great, the others not so much. A wide selection for activities in the hotel and they have this place that helps you book excursions/tours. The view is nice but activities involving loud music go until around 10pm so I'm not sure if it's great for young children. Also not sure what this continental private thing was but it gets a bit annoying.

We love the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos!!!! So much so that we’ve been twice and are already planning a third visit next year. The staff is INCREDIBLE… the service unmatched. We noticed big improvements in overall food quality and taste this year. The buffet served 5 new desserts every day and they were all very flavorful. The steak house is our favorite restaurant… don’t miss it!The resort itself is well maintenanced and just picturesque. The views are perfect. There was an issue with our rooms due to an overbooking (red flag) but the staff accommodated us… however, we had to insist.Cons: the rooms honestly smell so musty and bad. It hit us like a ton of bricks every time we entered. The coffee this year wasn’t great. Not sure what changed since last year (we LOVED our daily iced coffees with caramel syrup)… but this year the coffee quality was awful. We tried different coffee drinks every day and nothing tasted right. This was a huge bummer for a family of coffee lovers.

CONSTRUCTION!!! SO LOUD!! Call before you book to make sure the construction is over. I’m currently looking for another resort to stay at.The problem is not the hotel itself. The problem is there is an entire building renovated and the demolition noise is INSANE ! I feel like I’m swimming next a construction site. I can’t hear my wife talk normally. She has to speak very loudly so instead we just look and point at what we want. If I could attach a video I would. I DO NOT recommend anyone stay here while the construction is ongoing. You will not be happy.

Absolute Nightmare – Avoid This Place at All Costs! This resort is an absolute disgrace. What was supposed to be a relaxing vacation turned into a disaster thanks to their utter incompetence. Let me start with the food – it was disgusting. Everything was old, stale, and far from fresh. It was obvious that nothing was handled with care or attention, and my fiancé paid the price by getting severe food poisoning from Salmonella. That alone should make anyone reconsider staying here. But what really blew my mind was how the hotel handled it. When we reached out to them, their medical team had the nerve to claim that Salmonella is a virus that spreads, which is absurdly wrong. Their ignorance was appalling – they tried to dismiss it by saying no one else had been infected, as if that’s supposed to make it better. We even submitted blood and stool tests that proved the infection with Salmonella, dated the day we came back from the resort, and they still denied it. Clearly, they don’t understand basic food safety. All it takes is one negligent person mishandling food for someone to get infected. The fact that they refused to acknowledge this shows just how little they care about their guests' well-being.If that wasn’t bad enough, the entire stay was ruined by constant, obnoxious construction noise. This place had the audacity to call itself a resort, but it felt more like we were stuck in a construction zone. There was no peace, no quiet, and absolutely no chance to relax.I wouldn’t recommend this place anyone who wants to visit Los Cabos. Between the revolting food, the clueless medical staff, and the endless noise, this was hands down the worst vacation experience we’ve ever had. Stay far away from this nightmare of a resort!

We enjoyed the hotel despite construction. When I called Hyatt ziva re the construction, they said “you won’t notice it”. From 9am-past 5pm construction was full tilt. Three pools were unusable due to the noise. There was a section of hotel that was sheltered from the noise and I wish we would have relocated. It was SO loud we couldn’t use the swim up pool. The staff is all very friendly. However, we had a “butler” and he couldn’t do anything. He couldn’t book restaurant reservations, bring us drinks to the room, etc. not sure what he was actually meant for… seemed like a gimmick.Food and drink was good. Rooms were clean and stocked. Really lovely place, the construction was absolutely heinous though. See video. It was my first all inclusive experience, and we enjoyed it. Unfortunate timing.

We were attending the Hyatt for a wedding on a very short trip. The day before we were set to leave one of our children got sick - causing us to try and move the trip one day back. When we called to see if we could just shift our room back one day (leave on Friday and return on Sunday) vs (Leave on Thursday and return on Saturday) the answer was no.The Hyatt confirmed they had room availability (as did their website), but it was against their policy to move dates on rooms. They even had the audacity to ask us if we could provide a doctors note....as if I was skipping school. We paid you $1400 to stay two nights in your hotel. You can at least try and make some type of arrangement that will help us not lose out on $1400.Instead I got "it's against policy and we will work with your travel agent"Just blows my mind...might be a nice place, but this is horrible horrible business etiquette.

The services deserve 5-star with dozens of service staff we interacted with over our stay in the hotel. Prepare some five and one dollar cash to tip the hardworking service staffs who will impress you if you have paid ridiculous tip for virtually no service in the U.S., especially in California where they charge you a 20% service fee before counting tips! I gave tips to waiters at the restaurant, bartender at the pool, person who helped us moving the baggage. I am not rich by any means, but I was impressed by their hospitality and attentiveness after being negatively impressed from many U.S. restaurants and hotels. Our family's first experience with Cabos and the all-inclusive resort. We tried three different fine-dining restaurants during our stay; none was less impressive than the other. The all-day run buffet, La Plaza, will satisfied most of the guests who invested a good amount money to expect some great food options and dining experience. They frequently change the menu for three meals at the buffet, and it will get your money "back" even if you just have the buffet all day long. Unlimited drinks and beverages in several bars, at the pool, and of course the 5 restaurants we tried. The resort's private beach is clean and well-maintained. The pool is not packed even though the adult pool hosted several parties which could be annoying because of the loud music, but some people came here to celebrate their most important moment of the life so it's tolerable. Taco trucks and healthy juice bar nearby the pool. A 24-HOUR coffee house with unlimited supply of donuts, deserts, and pastries. The ice latte I ordered is much better the Starbucks nearby my house. The internet covers most of the areas with pretty stable connection. I had a few video meeting from work, and it ran smoothly. The gym is a typical hotel size with all necessary weight lifting equipment and cardio machines. You can all sign some of their free cool classes like aerobic cycling in the pool. Two cons made me to give 4-star instead of 5. First of all, the room cleaning service is oddly slow. It took them 3-hour to clean our room, and the room is not super clean. Also, the humid air from the sea made the bed and your cloth damped alone with some smells. Secondly, the hotel is under construction. It's very cloud during the day or you live in the main building. They also rent adult pool area for private parties and events, which could be annoying if you travel with kids who have hard time to sleep with noise.

I was here on a work trip but I would definitely return on my own. I was very pleased by the friendliness and service of all the staff I encountered on my trip. I want to especially highlight Alberto in the la plaza restaurant, he was amazing. The food and drinks were also great. The pool was large and never felt crowded and we loved our room with a balcony with an ocean front view.

This is my third time at this resort and every time the service, food and overall vibe of hotel is top notch. This time I got married here and from day one the service was spectacular. Everything was so good it is really hard to put it into words. I guarantee if you visit this resort you will not be dissatisfied.I would like to give a a huge thank you to a few special people who made our stay and wedding day the best it could be. I was very unsatisfied with this hotel and services. I wasn't told when making the booking that it was under construction. Couldn't enjoy the ocean because you are not allowed to swim in the ocean. Which I was not told when I booked. Swimming pools close at 8pm. Due to the 7 wedding at this hotel. We couldn't enjoy the pools. The weddings started at 5pm. Took over the entire hotel. The food at the buffet was cold almost everyday. Room service doesn't have the full menu like they say on their app. The Teen Club was never open the 7 days we went. I was moved due to the construction. But I still could hear the noise. Crying children next door to us. I came to rest and couldn't do that one bit. No night life or entertainment. Once again, since the 7 weddings took over the entire hotel. The elevators didn't work. Super unsatisfied

There are a real mixed bag of reviews here and though I can understand the frustrations of the other customers if you can try to see beyond you’ll find some really wonderful advantages to booking here. But first and foremost the customer service and the people who work here are wonderful. We had absolutely incredible service from bellman Alberto, manager Greece, catering manager Juliette and the most wonderful lady I’ve met Margarita who is usually stationed at the buffet venue. All Beautiful people and such warm genuine souls who go out of their way to do what they can for you. The hotel is beautiful the location is class. Sadly you are not allowed to swim in the sea which is a real shame as this is why we like to be on the beach. And yes there were renovations going on, luckily we were told in advance but if I’m honest it was after the cancellation period which I did communicate to the manager that I was not very happy about. It was also after that we were then told the kids pool was closed and this was one of the reasons we booked this particular hotel in the first place so that was a huge shame. But we made the most of the holiday and I found that it wasn’t at all marred by the renovations. I would say there are some things that badly need improving like the bedrooms and the teens space. It’s a little dark and depressing and considering the money you pay I wasn’t expecting it to look so run down. It’s a shame. Also they really do need to scrap the extra charge the cabanas around the pool and on the beach. it’s just wrong and totally not worth it as no one seems to pay to use them anyway. The food was good and they did all they could to provide halal meat for us which was delicious and very much appreciated. Also they work hard on their entertainment! It’s a bit overwhelming as they have so much on , sadly things get cancelled and re arranged quite a lot but you can tell a real effort is placed on it. There was a production of Grease and it was so enjoyable my 10 year old really loved it. * sigh * This place has a lot of potential I hope they can take on board some of the suggestions and comment'd made. I can honestly say it was one of our favourite holidays.

We stayed here for 6 nights over spring break. Listen to the bad reviews...we did not. It was one of our worst trips. We did the club level ocean view with our two young kids. Pros: they have a kids club where you can leave your kids for fun activities (although we stayed nearby to keep an eye on them just in case) and they had some nightly shows. Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE. Food was terrible except for dozo (and make sure you make reservations for the teppanyaki which is in the restaurant), by 6 am EVERY pool chair is taken. They do add some chairs to the beach but you cannot see your kids in the pool if you sit there of course. The last day when we finally got chairs after putting towels at 5 am (not even by the pools but close enough to see the pool when you’re standing), they didn’t have towels until 8:30. And in fact they ran out of towels everyday several times a day. Per the worker that we complained to, he finally fessed up and said people were paying the workers 100-300$ to save chairs the night before and some people were sleeping on chairs night before and leaving their towels/shirts there for the next day—honestly doesn’t feel like vacation when I have to wake up that early to go to save chairs. We even asked if we can book a cabana and they were all sold out. The kids couldn’t go in the jacuzzis (they made both adults only) and the heated pools were inoperable 2/6 days and when they were heated, it was not well heated… If you’re vegetarian, you’re out of luck for food to eat, I would say room service had the best ovo-vegetarian food. The managers do not resolve any conflicts you are having. We ended up sitting on the floor by the pool (mind you paying close to 1k a night) 4/6 day because we couldn’t get chairs but wanted to be able to see our kids in the pool with their life jackets on. The door to get into shower was broken so we had to climb in and out to go to the bathroom from this window door by the tub for 1/2 a day until it was fixed. The shower water ranges from ultra hot to cold without notice. 2 hour waits to dine at restaurants and they do not take reservations. The kids pool areas got extremely dirty and one day was closed due drunk adult throwing up the night before in it. On the flight home, my daughter got food poisoning from the club lounge food (which was also not worth getting by the way, don’t pay for the extra money, they even ran out of water and we had to wait 20 minutes for that, had very limited options, terrible service—you’re basically paying extra a day just for the pool table when you choose a club level room). My list can go on and on. Worst Hyatt stay. Am a world Hyatt credit card holder and this is our first time ever complaining and the resort did nothing other than lie that their pools were not broken and we were offered chairs to sit on… I would never EVER return to this location (p.s. added some pictures that show what 6 am looks like….nobody on the pool chairs but every single one taken)

This place is the most disgusting resort I have ever stayed in. The food is disgusting, not fresh. The customer service - non existent. Most of the employees do not speak nor understand the English language. We were sat down in a restaurant and were not offered drinks by the server. My complaints can go on and on/ the bottom line- stay away! There has to be better food and service in prison! Wound not come back even if it was free!

My friends and I had an amazing time! The oceanview room was nicely positioned above the adults only pool area, which means that we didn't experience a lot of noise. The room was spacious, and we loved the bathroom with a separate shower and oversized jet garden tub. Katrina was our housekeeper, and she provided excellent services.I ate at the Cortez daily for breakfast, and the service and staff were superb! Shoutout to Ricardo for making sure my food was good, no bananas as I have allergies to them, and that my mimosas were on point with half pineapple juice and half champagne! Let me add their great taste in music while dining as well.I had a wonderful time enjoying all the daily resort activities such as wine/paint, jenga and tequila, water aerobics, foam pool party, karaoke, and nightly shows. The hammock over the pool on the adult side was my favorite chillax spot! I fell asleep a few times reading my book. The restaurants, overall, had great service and food!I highly recommend staying at this resort, whether solo, with a few friends, family, or kids! It was a lot to do for everyone.

DO NOT GO!! The entire resort is under construction. The whole kids area and kids amenities are closed. We sat in jack hammer noise by the pool for 5 days without any notice or warning from the resort beforehand. THIS IS YOUR WARNING!

Nick V — Google review

The hotel itself is great but is going through a major reconstruction that makes relaxing or enjoying the pool, impossible. Half of the hotel is under renovation for the past 5 months and far from finished. When done, the other half will start. It is impossible to chat or to listen to music at the pool, from 9am to 6pm. So sad because the hotel is great, the food, the people and service. The room itself needs improvements, bathroom doors broken, uncomfortable sofa-bed (for kids), safe broken but I guess that's why they are renovating it.

We just checked in. Celebrating a big birthday and our anniversary. There is lots of construction. They are trying to keep it contained but it’s everywhere except the pools that I can tell.Im reviewing because I wish they would have told us at booking. We would have chosen another place. Our last visit here it was very nice but things have changed, hopefully once construction is over it will be worth it.

1. Food safety here is abysmal - we got served some entirely raw meat one night. They had a guy reaching in to get raw foods with the same tools used to touch entirely uncooked food. I have to believe that a lot of people get sick here - we got lucky and did not. We complained to the manager - he did go down and talk to the cooks, but they very clearly said, "yep that's how we do it boss." 2. The people who have positive reviews I suspect just really liked unlimited alcohol. And let me tell you - if you want to go somewhere to drink yourself stupid, this is the place for you! They have it everywhere. 3. The food is among the worst you will ever eat - other than breakfast, entirely avoid the buffet, it's horrible. Desserts are all really bad except for ice cream being fine. 4. The guests are pretty trashy - our neighbors had a massive brawl one night in their room. That was super awesome. We called security - we never heard back from them. 5. I do think the staff is fairly friendly. 6. The best way to enjoy this place is to buy your way out of the problems. They pool chair situation is a disaster for example. They let people just reserve every chair and most just sit empty all day long and are never used. Well, you can deal with that or just spent $150 per day and buy a cabana on the beach. Hate food (you will!), just spend extra money to buy the more expensive food there. So the reality is that it's not really all inclusive unless you want only the very worst experiences. 7. Overall, I would never stay at another Ziva again - absolutely awful Christmas week for us...

This is a very nice resort, and the staff work very hard to show everyone a great time. The food here is generally good, but not great. When we came over new years all of the pools felt very cold relative to the outside temperature. Most restaurants had a wait if you went after 5:45PM, and none of the bars have cocktail menus so it’s hard to know what they can do or get something special you might not have heard of before.Overall we probably won’t return just because of the great time we’ve had at other resorts we enjoyed previously. The place is nice, I expect most everyone has a good time when they visit.Something I don’t hold the hotel responsible for - the game of reserving chairs in the morning is pretty out of hand. I don’t think there is much the hotel can do, but if everyone just used chairs when they needed them there would be plenty. Because people reserve them all day and only use them a couple hours it can be hard to find chairs on peak days.

Our recent stay at the Hyatt was nothing short of a nightmare, and it is with a heavy heart that I feel compelled to share our horrible experience. What was supposed to be an enjoyable spring break trip turned into a health hazard and a series of disappointments, thanks to the grave negligence and disregard for customer satisfaction exhibited by the staff and supposed managers at this “resort”. On the second night of our stay, at 3 am, we were horrified to discover seriously contaminated water gushing out of both sinks in our room, tainted with a repulsive yellow color and a very foul smell. This incident not only ruined our sleep but also had severe repercussions on our health, leading to stomach issues that persisted throughout our stay and the inability to use our sink for brushing teeth, rinsing, or doing our hair. As a result, we had to seek medical assistance and forfeit a planned dinner one night due to pain, effectively ruining our trip. Despite promptly reporting this appalling situation to the front desk, our horrible experience was met with incompetence. The on-duty manager, Rolando Cruz, nonchalantly dismissed our concerns, claiming that the issue was known but apparently did not affect our room—an assertion blatantly contradicted by the attached video evidence we provided to the management. Moreover, the manner in which our complaint was handled was utterly disgraceful. We were promised a meeting with managers Victoria or Rolando the following morning, only to be met with further disappointment and a delay of over 30 minutes to meet with a manager after waking up at 8am before our flight departure at 11:30am. After a lot of going back and forth with Rolando Cruz (one of the on duty managers who was extremely ignorant), he offered a pitiful compensation of 5,000 Hyatt points, a mere fraction of what is warranted for the magnitude of inconvenience and distress we endured during our trip. They tried to charge us $300 for a deep cleaning because my friend got very sick and threw up about ¼ of a handful of food but all they did was replace the bed sheet. They forced us to sign a paper in order to take off that charge and receive it as “compensation” which is extremely scammy, deceitful and disgusting. We explained to them that in the US, this would have been a fast lawsuit and further action would have been taken as this is a very serious health issue that could have escalated for the worst. To add on to our experience, there was a delay in room service several times, causing us to call with no luck and having to go in person to the front desk to request water, towels, or a cleaning. It was very inconvenient when this should have been courtesy to all hotel guests during their stay that they are paying thousands of dollars for. Furthermore, the premature closure of the swim-up bar, a key amenity advertised as part of the all-inclusive package, deprived us and numerous other guests of a promised experience. Furthermore, they were telling us we have to wait 30 minutes per drink or shot which is unheard of. The lack of accountability and transparency exhibited by the management, particularly in refusing to disclose contact information for higher-ups, is wholly unacceptable. As loyal patrons who have frequented Hyatt properties in the past, we expected far better treatment and respect for our well-being. In conclusion, I suggest that potential guests exercise caution before considering a stay at this Hyatt property. Our experience serves as a warning of the gross negligence and disregard for customer satisfaction prevalent within this establishment. There are surely other hotels in Cabo that are truly enjoyable and a stress-free vacation experience. This hotel was so ignorant that they even denied compensation or anything even when the corporate contacted them on my behalf. You have been warned should you have any issues during your stay if you decide to proceed with staying at this property.

Had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to all our needs. They had activities all day and shows every night. The restaurants were all inclusive and all amazing with excellent service from the wait staff. We enjoyed a Spa day that was very relaxing. The Hotel views were beautiful and had many pool areas to choose from with food available at pool side. The wait staff again was amazing at bringing us drinks and making sure we had what we needed to enjoy our pool day. The rooms are beautiful. We will be staying there again. Best hotel experience I've had in all my visits to Cabo. Thank you to all the staff at Hyatt Ziva

What an amazing resort! A short drive from the airport and then you are in paradise. The staff was amazing. I would definitely recommend a spa treatment. The food is amazing and readily available. Tacos, tacos tacos and fresh guacamole everywhere! We booked a swim up room which we absolutely loved. The beach isn't swimmable, but most aren't in Cabo. The waves were amazing to watch and listen to. Parts of the resort were under renovation, but you wouldn't know it unless you looked for it. We will definitely be returning in the future!

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and we can’t say enough good things about it! One wing of the hotel was closed due to construction, which although made it a bit loud by the main pool it made it much less crowded! Plus easy to avoid if you just go to the adult pool on the other side of the resort 😊 we had incredible service from all of the staff!! Every time we ate a meal they asked if we were celebrating anything and often were met with a surprise dessert or champagne. The French restaurant was so good we went twice in our week stay, and all of the other restaurants were great too, maybe aside from the buffet but it’s your typical buffet 😊 we enjoyed drinks at the martini bar most nights which had the sweetest bartender and also a fun party vibe at the sports bar. So many of the staff remember your name and talk to you when they pass by you on a daily basis. The beach is also gorgeous! Too dangerous to swim (like most Cabo beaches) but gorgeous to look at!

I am really not sure how this is labeled a 5 star resort. I feel like the pictures from reviews and the website do not accurately represent the hotel. First the staff are lovely. I really believe everyone here is trying to make this a nice experience for the guest. The holiday activities for the kids were much appreciated. The food is below average and makes it hard to justify the prices this hotel charges per night. We were rushed through dinner at the steak house bc of long lines. The hotel itself really could use some upgrades. The best way to describe it is it feels like the entire place needs a fresh coat of paint. The staff told us the main pool heater was broke but I’m pretty sure that’s been the story for a while here. The elevators aren’t all running. Overall, I wouldn’t return.

Went here February of 2023 as a couple.Property: the property is really nice, great pool, fun pool bar, and generally pretty clean. Room felt a bit dated, or maybe just not my style which is a bit more modern. The specific room I had had a slight mildewy smell in the shower, which explains my 3/5 star rating for the rooms. But the view and space in the room was great.Amenities: 7/10. Picked this resort as it was one of the few that had a tennis court -- only 1 though, and it looked pretty neglected. The net was not functioning properly. The gym, however, is actually quite nice. A large selection of free weights and good cable machines. There's even a bench press station which feels rare for most hotels. Much bigger gym than many resorts I've seen.Food: Overall - 6/10. As you can expect from an all-inclusive, the food is pretty mid, but not bad. If you book a club access room, the food options in the club lounge did seem just a tad bit better. The drinks seemed stronger/better at the club lounge as well. My favorite was Zaffiro -- the patio restaurant near the pool. Good fish tacos. Dozo (their Japanese restaurant) and Bon Vivant (their fancier French restaurant) were both kinda meh, 5/10. Had the weirdest dessert that was drowned in orange liquer at their French restaurant... so don't order that lol. Their bars (Spirit of 1968, and some bars located outside of restaurants) can be pretty lively at night, great for socializing with other guests if that's what you're looking for.Service: 5/5. Service was good everywhere we went. Room service, restaurants, service by the pool -- all great. Every time we came across staff we were greeted with smiles. Truly felt like 5-star service -- much better than other 5-star all inclusives we've stayed at like Breathless Los Cabos. My only other all inclusive experience in Cabo was at Breathless on the Los Cabos side (similar price range ~600/night, both 5-star ranked), and I would rank Ziva higher than Breathless if you're a couple looking for a romantic getaway. The biggest difference is due to the level of service and the pool setup.

BEWARE IF YOU ARE PLANNING A WEDDING!!! We had a horrible experience trying to book a group rate with this hotel. They would not even match their own rate on resortsbyhyatt which is direct booking NOT a third party and kept quoting higher pricing (about $100 higher than the rate on their website). When I asked the hotel if I should just book all our guests without a group rate they said yes because they were not going to match it (their own rate!). Please note I booked all of our rooms 6 months in advance for about 30 guests total. Then after I book them all they tell me because I don’t have a group rate I’ll have to pay $1000USD per vendor that comes on site!! I told them there was no way I was going to pay this ridiculous amount and I would rather pay for a day pass or 1 night stay because it would be way cheaper. I’m talking half the price cheaper to just pay them to stay at the resort and eat and drink as much as they want. Then my planner goes back and forth with them and my biggest mistake was not getting everything in writing as on our zoom call the planner told us the day pass would be $150USD. Then when we went for the site visit at this hotel as we were leaving I confirmed that we could buy the day pass for $150USD for the vendors and they said yes. So I paid the deposit for our hair and makeup which I ended up losing because my planner and this hotel did not keep their word. I had even asked my planner in an e-mail about the day pass for “guests/vendors” and she replied only saying “guests”. Two weeks before our check in date, exactly one day after we had fully paid all the rooms, the hotel contacts us and says yeah so you have to pay $1000USD to bring the vendors onto the property. This was EXTREMELY manipulative and exploitative because now, 6 months after it was first mentioned and negotiated, the rates for the rooms were obviously higher and I couldn’t get my deposit back from my hair and makeup team and they were saying a day pass for vendors would be PER PERSON on a team at $369USD. They also kept saying if I booked another room their would have to pay for late check out which makes ZERO sense as late check out doesn’t mean you have to be off the property just out of your room at a certain time and all the hair and makeup team would be in our room. They were acting as if we aren’t well travelled, so I would beware of these little tricks. Overall this truly made our wedding experience far more stressful than it needed to be. So if you are looking to do a room block here and have outside vendors/do your wedding off site, I would be extremely wary. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the staff at the resort are so kind and after checking in, our experience was good staying at the resort.

This place was great but not amazing. The Beach water was off limits, water park was awfully small, and not much privacy. For example, The bathroom is a clear stall. The kids or adults in the room can just see you sitting on the toilet. I do not recommend this hotel if you want a private bathroom visit. Good things about this hotel was the food, pool was warm, and you can have a nice walk on the beach. If you want to go to Los Cabos for vacation, this is your place if you do not care about privacy.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel, its staff, the food and drinks, entertainment, everything!! We were so thrilled with our stay. The staff was more than gracious and accommodating, the food at the buffet and restaurants was so tasty and high quality, the rooms were nice and cool with great air conditioning and a fan. We would come back again and again. This was such an amazing experience! Thank you so much to all of the Hyatt Ziva staff

The people were wonderful!! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable, clean and well stocked. The pools were relaxing and fun. Lots of activities you can participate in. The food was delicious. The only thing that would prevent us from coming again is there was no direct flight for us and on the way there we had a 6 hour layover in Mexico City.

Our 2 bedroom suite was very, comfortable and clean. We had a personal concierge that you could call anytime if you needed something specific such as late checkout or a ride to the airport. The grounds were well maintained and employees of the Hyatt were constantly cleaning. The pool areas were very nice especially the kids pooI if you have children. The other pools were nice and big. I would highly recommend reserving a cabana to lounge in around the main pool. They are very comfortable and you have a dedicated server who will bring you anything that you ask for . The cabanas also come with a bottle of wine, sodas, bottled water and chocolate dipped strawberries. You can sit and relax all day in your cabana. The only big negative is the food. It’s really not what you would expect. The best meal is the buffet but only for breakfast. The other restaurants that we ate at (Italian, Steakhouse) were really bad.Basically my family lived on rolls for 5 days. Huge disappointment!

we stayed over spring break. Is it 5 stars like the four seasons or fairmont? no far from it.However the staff make it 5 stars, they work hard to make everyone happy. We had a few issues and yes they were resolved...however if you are 5 star then you would anticipate your customers needs without them having to complain...then you follow through. So if you don't mind spending your vacation time complaining to managers then this is the place. Don't get me wrong they will rectify the issue and make it better.housekeeping is a hit and miss, again once we complained it was done to our standard.food if you like salty food then this is the place, everyone in our group liked the food except for me well i don't like salty food.the gym, hmmm it was okay however they use some sort of febreze contraption that bothered my lungs so I coughed a lot...again once i complained and said these chemicals are not good for the guests to smell they unplugged them while i was there...the grounds were pristine, the hotel was always happening you will not be bored as there is always an activity for everyone in your family.Try the spa it is exquisite yes you have to pay extra but its worth it as it is quite relaxing. Will we return, yes because again the staff make it 5 star.

Booked a room a couple months ago for this upcoming Memorial Day weekend. Received an email last week that the hotel is “undergoing enhancements” and my family can no longer stay there. They moved us to their Dreams property. Seems I’m now staying at a hotel whose room rate is lower and is about 5-7 miles from where we wanted to stay… in town so could walk around and explore. Bummed… I’ve wanted to stay at the Ziva property for several years. Seeing reviews posted within the last few weeks so I guess other guests are not staying where the “enhancements” are happening. I continue to receive emails asking if I want to upgrade my room at Ziva or book spa services, so a bit confusing. 😞

I'm writing this email in regards to my recent stay at The Hyatt ziva in Los Cabos. I am an Explorist Member , my member number is 549182903P, and as a Loyal Member I am dissatisfied and my birthday vacation with my family was terrible and we did not receive services that were paid for and expected. I booked a suite from June 6 to June 11, 2024. The total I paid for this vacation was $3,900, which is a substantial amount of money .So I expected basic necessities that should be given to anyone, especially when you paying this amount and you book with a quality brand. So , Upon arrival , at check in I was told that the suite I booked they didn't have because they were doing construction on the Resort. So initially I was upset , and it's my birthday so I'm trying to stay in good spirits. I asked to speak with a manager and he tried to give me a lesser room than what I paid for , but then after an hour found some room that he felt was in the same category. So he suggested that we go eat , while they clean the room . So we went back to the front desk about 2 hours later after eating and just wanted to go to our room and unpack and get settled in . After all the traveling we just wanted to unwind. We followed him to the room and while walking I noticed all the construction and how loud it was, and it was directly next to our room. Upon entering our room we noticed it was outdated but didn't mind , we were just happy to be in a room finally. So this is when things started getting worse , it was like a birthday family vacation from hell. Literally. We tried to settle in ahd shower and watch television, the television wasn't working, The bathroom door was broken, it did not close . and the shower water pressure was extremely low , even after running the water for over 30 minutes it didnt get better. We tried to call down stars with all these issues but could not get a manager on the phone. So me and my family ended up being tortured by the loud construction next to our room all night and went to bed .The next morning I went downstairs to the from desk and spoke one manager and they informed me that they was leaving and that they was so sorry and that the will have the next manager take care of the situation when they come in. So please follow my story , now this is just day 2 , the morning of, So i proceeded to go back upstairs to my awful room with all the construction and all the basic amenities thats not functioning, So at 9:25 Am Emilio, one of the managers text message me and told me he was informed and he was going to be the one to help out with the situation, and he will be looking out for a room change for me and my husband and 2 children. Now the day is going by and we are waiting and waiting, at 3pm Emilio informed me that they cannot change my room and that it was challenging for him to do it. I then asked him to speak to a general manager , so He sent a chief over to me at the pool. He also said the same thing, that it was challenging and how he will try to change it on another day. So againg me and I had to endure a terrible sleepless night on our vacation. Now by this point I just wanted to go home and leave. There was no accountability by the staff and no resolutions. Finally now I'm on day number 3 and the manager informs me that they can finally move us to the side of the hotel resort where there is no construction going on and all amenities work. However, I just wanted to go home, I informed him that I only had one more night there and it did not make any sense to mover all our things after all this time we had endured it. I didnt wanna put myself and family through all the packing and unpacking again for just one more night. Honestly Everything was Just a huge inconvenience . I expected more from the Hyatt. I'm a frequent customer with you guys, the past 2 years I was a Discoverist member and now I'm an Explorist and I'm thinking about ending my membership and relationship after this ordeal. Nothing was offered to me or my family, as a customer to show that they were sorry. no compensation, no refund.

We had a challenging experience trying to book a group rate at this hotel for our wedding. Despite booking all our rooms six months in advance for about 30 guests, the hotel refused to match their own rate from the Hyatt website, quoting significantly higher prices instead. After booking without a group rate, we were informed that bringing vendors onsite would incur a high fee per vendor, which seemed unreasonable. Attempts to negotiate, including opting for a day pass for the vendors, led to further complications and miscommunication, with promises made during a Zoom call and via email later being reneged. This situation escalated just two weeks before our check-in date, right after we had fully paid for all the rooms. The hotel insisted on an exorbitant fee for vendors, significantly higher than what was initially agreed upon. Our planner’s assurances and the hotel's confirmations about the day pass were not honored, leading to financial losses, including a non-refundable deposit for hair and makeup services. Additionally, the hotel's demands for late checkout fees and inflated vendor day pass rates felt manipulative and exploitative, making the planning process unnecessarily stressful.Despite the severe issues we faced during the booking and planning stages, our stay at the resort itself was pleasant. The resort staff were kind and attentive, which improved our overall experience. However, the difficulties in handling group bookings and vendor arrangements lead us to caution others who are planning to have their wedding guests stay at this resort. This warning also applies to couples planning to have their wedding at this resort, in case you want to bring outside vendors.

Construction all day, impossible to relax while laying out. Was only notified of construction 3 days before the trip. They also create their own exchange rate so when checking out, the bill was almost 100$ over what it should’ve been, even though the exchange rate in Cabo is a certain amount. Not accommodating at all. Will never come back or recommend this place.

hotel definitely deserves 5 stars - wedding department maybe 3 or 4 lol. but if you are going here on vacation it was absolutely lovely. the staff was so beyond friendly and accommodating, the resort is large, there is a large variety of activities, lots of pool and the most stunning ocean view. for all inclusive the food was great. 24 hr cafe with ice cream... still dreaming about it. if you're worried about the construction it really didnt disturb us and you cant even notice it if you are in building 3 and use the adult pool. we would return. definitely take a trip to sunset monalisa - 30 minute by uber, totally worth it. cant wait to see the rooms after construction because they are slightly dated. the swim out pools were so nice.

WARNING CONSTRUCTION ! ! ! NO ONE INFORMED US THEY ARE DOING CONSTRUCTION ON SITE, THE HAMMERS ARE ALL DAY LONG!!! Experience at this hotel was devastating.Do not go, unless you want to spend you vacation on a construction site. It is so loud you can barely stay at the resort. Hotel is really beat up. Room smells like mold, no wonder they are renovating the hotel. The AC is so loud and never stops, its like you sleep on an airplane. Everything is falling a part, furniture is old and dirty. I joined my family 2 days prior departure, otherwise we would have moved to a different hotel. Their all inclusive I can only compare if Motel6 had an all inclusive. All drinks and food is low quality. We went to the steak house... food was not good. Buffet had good food options. Staff and service was really good, but still that can not compensate the hammers.
