Current Status:

Free. Released from Cheshire County D.O.C. on Wednesday June 10th, 2009. Over 40 people where there to welcome him. He had been incarcerated since June 2nd, 2009.

Imprisoned at the Cheshire County Jail in Westmoreland, NH as of June 2nd, 2009. With a fine of $420 and $50 / day credit he was expected to be released June 11th, 2009.

Andrew was found guilty of marijuana possession on May 1st, 2009 and fined $350 + $70 surcharge. He refused to pay the fine or perform 42 hours of community service. Judge Burke gave him the weekend to reconsider. May 4th, 2009 Andrew filed an intent to appeal. He had till June 2nd, 2009 to appeal or else he would be incarcerated.

On Monday May 18th, 2009 he had announced he would not be appealing the conviction and instead would turn himself into the Cheshire County jail on the morning of June 2nd, 2009. He indicated too that he would not voluntarily go through booking and would perform a hunger strike “to know what it is that Sam is going through right now, physically and psychologically.”

Bio:

Originally from California, Andrew moved to New Hampshire as part of the Free State Project in late 2008. The summer after graduating high school he was was researching Ron Paul and “stumbled across the Free State Project.” After researching the idea more and frequenting the FSP forums he decided to move to Keene, New Hampshire.

In his interview with the Motorhome Diaries Pete Eyre Andrew states some of his short term goals include to run for state office as a Democrat from Keene and start up a Jack in the Box in New Hampshire.
